Pixie is a standalone Apple Watch app for Plex music and audiobooks.
Credential Security
Pixie stores your Plex authentication token and Plex client identifier in the Apple Keychain, the hardware-backed credential store built into every Apple device. These values are encrypted at rest by the Secure Enclave, never written to UserDefaults or plain files, and are accessible only after you unlock your device. Pixie does not transmit, log, or cache your credentials outside the Keychain.
What Else Pixie Stores On-Device
Pixie stores selected server and library, local Plex account details, playback, network, and download preferences, current playback state, and optional diagnostics logs on-device using Apple platform storage APIs.
Pixie also caches Plex library metadata and artwork or network responses on-device to improve browsing and image loading.
Downloaded music and audiobook files, download metadata, and pinned artwork are stored locally on your Apple Watch when you choose content for offline playback.
Data Use
Pixie does not include analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs from Wrightworks Studios LLC.
Pixie does not sell your personal information.
Pixie does not send your listening activity to Wrightworks Studios LLC or any third-party analytics provider.
Pixie sends the data needed to authenticate with Plex and use Plex features directly to Plex services and to your selected Plex servers or Plex players. That may include browsing requests, streaming and download requests, playback progress, scrobbling, ratings, playlist actions, and remote control commands.
How Pixie Connects
Pixie connects to Plex services such as plex.tv for authentication and account operations, and to your selected Plex servers and players for media and playback features.
Pixie uses local network access to communicate directly with Plex Media Servers on your network. When a direct Wi-Fi connection is available, Pixie prefers it. When your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, requests may be relayed through the paired iPhone. Pixie monitors your network connection type to optimize download and streaming behavior but does not collect or transmit network information.
Your use of Plex services is also subject to Plex’s own terms, privacy practices, and account requirements.
Diagnostics and Support
If you choose to share diagnostics or contact support, the information you send may include technical details such as app version, watchOS version, device model, track, queue, server, route, and logs relevant to the reported issue.
That information is used only to investigate, respond to, and resolve support requests.
Data Retention
Signing out clears your stored Plex authentication token and certain local account fields, but it does not remove downloads, cached metadata or artwork, diagnostics entries, or other preferences already stored on the device.
Other data stored locally in Pixie remains on your device until you remove downloaded content, delete the app, clear related app data through normal platform behavior, or the system evicts temporary caches.
Support emails and bug reports are retained only as long as needed to respond and track product issues.
